The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) held its monthly review meeting with leading wind-energy manufacturers at Atal Akshay Urja Bhavan, reaffirming the government’s focus on strengthening India’s wind manufacturing base. The meeting was chaired by Shri Santosh Sarangi, Secretary, MNRE, who emphasised the sector’s crucial role in meeting the country’s clean energy goals for 2030 and beyond.
The session brought together turbine manufacturers, component producers, and supply-chain stakeholders for an open dialogue on current challenges and emerging opportunities. Discussions revolved around boosting domestic manufacturing capacity, improving supply-chain resilience, and supporting innovation in next-generation wind technologies.
Participants also explored ways to accelerate deployment through smoother logistics, faster testing and certification, and enhanced coordination between central and state agencies. With India aiming for rapid expansion in both onshore and offshore wind, MNRE underscored the need for continual collaboration with industry to remove bottlenecks and ensure high-quality, globally competitive production.
Secretary Sarangi highlighted that regular consultations are key to building a strong, self-reliant wind ecosystem capable of supporting India’s growing renewable ambitions. The ministry will continue these monthly interactions to track progress, address industry concerns, and drive sustained momentum across the wind sector.
