Reinforcing its leadership in India’s electric mobility journey, TATA.ev has announced a significant expansion of the country’s EV-charging network through its newly launched “Open Collaboration 2.0” initiative. This refreshed framework places emphasis on shared growth, unified standards, and interoperable charging, ensuring that India’s EV ecosystem evolves in a cohesive and user-friendly manner.
Under this approach, TATA.ev is partnering with top charge point operators — including Tata Power, ChargeZone, Statiq, and Zeon — to rapidly scale the availability of public charging stations across highways, residential clusters, and commercial hubs. The company aims to create a seamless charging experience for both Tata EV owners and non-Tata EV users, reflecting an inclusive, ecosystem-first strategy.
A cornerstone of this effort is the rollout of the TATA.ev MegaCharger Network, a new generation of ultra-fast charging hubs designed to support long-distance travel and reduce charging times drastically. These hubs will feature high-capacity charging bays, strategic highway locations, and tech-enabled services for smoother customer experience.
In line with the company’s commitment to reliability, TATA.ev is also introducing a “Verified Charger” badge to assure users that a charger meets specific safety, uptime, and performance standards. Additional features — including a unified payment interface and a 24/7 helpline — are also being built to enhance charging convenience.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, emphasized that Open Collaboration 2.0 is designed to bring the industry together, not operate in silos. He highlighted that strengthening India’s charging infrastructure requires collective effort, and TATA.ev’s expanded partnerships reflect the company’s commitment to accelerating EV adoption while ensuring trust and transparency for customers.
With this bold move, TATA.ev is not only expanding its charging footprint but also shaping a more connected, interoperable, and future-ready EV ecosystem. By promoting openness and shared innovation, the company is helping build the foundation for a cleaner and more resilient mobility landscape in India.
