Tata Motors today released its 11th Annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report, titled “Expanding Circles of Care: Deeper connections, lasting impact,” presenting a comprehensive look at how the company is strengthening its social footprint and creating long-term value across India’s communities.
The report reveals that in FY 2024–25, Tata Motors’ CSR work reached 1.47 million people, with a significant share of support directed toward marginalized communities, including SC/ST households. The company emphasized that its approach has shifted from short-term interventions to building sustainable, scalable development models that promote community ownership and align with government initiatives.
Major Areas of Impact
- Water Sustainability: Through large-scale water conservation projects, Tata Motors restored hundreds of water bodies in drought-hit regions, improving water availability for farming and daily use.
- Rural Development: Its Integrated Village Development Programme continued to expand into aspirational districts, addressing essential needs such as sanitation, livelihoods, and education.
- Livelihood Support: Initiatives for waste-pickers, migrant communities, and vulnerable workers provided social protection, income opportunities, and skill development.
- Inclusive Workforce: The company deepened its diversity efforts by creating employment pathways for persons with disabilities and transgender individuals through targeted training and sensitisation.
- Health & Education: Health screenings, nutrition interventions, and youth coaching programs reached thousands of children and students, helping reduce malnutrition and improve educational readiness.
A Culture of Employee Volunteering
One of the standout elements of this year’s report is the strong employee participation — with nearly 20,000 Tata Motors employees engaging in community activities and contributing more than 200,000 volunteering hours.
Leadership Perspective
Commenting on the report, company CSR leaders noted that “expanding the circle of care” is not only about reach but about building deeper, lasting relationships with communities, ensuring solutions are equitable and future-ready.
Commitment Beyond Compliance
Even though Tata Motors was not mandated to spend on CSR in FY25, the company voluntarily invested ₹40 crore to continue supporting social development projects across the country — a step that underscores its long-standing commitment to responsible and inclusive growth.
